Nobody likes lice in their hair. To get rid of the head lice, there are some medical treatments, including:
- PYRETHRINS: pyrethrins are extracted from chrysanthemum flower which is used to kill lice. This should be kept in mind that pyrethrins can only kill the crawling lice and not the ones that has not been hatched yet. Pyrethrins should be applied on dry hair for about 10 minutes. Applying pyrethrins on your head for more than 10 minutes can be harmful. After 10 minutes the hairs should be washed clearly amd then dried with a towel.
- PERMETHRINS 1 %( NIX): permethrins is similar to pyrethrins. The NIX should be applied on hair after wash them thoroughly with shampoo. But the conditioner should not be used. After washing hair apply NIX on damp hair and leave it for about 10 minutes and then wash your hair with water and then dry using a towel.
As these are medical treatments so these chemicals should not be applied on a person who is allergic to them. Other treatments include using an anti-lice shampoo. But for some cases after using anti-lice shampoo conditioner should be applied as anti-lice shampoo makes hair dry. There are also some hair lice treatments at home like using vinegar, mayonnaise or even olive oil. But they are not authentic. Before using any medication for head lice you should consult the doctor or health care professional as they can properly guide you to use the appropriate product. But before using ay head lice medication or any other medication some precautions should be taken. Like if the medicine does not seem to work on a person two to three times then immediately stop using it and consult a doctor. Secondly, only a considerate amount of medicine should be applied as using a lot of amount of medicine can cause damage to your hair.
